Subject: [Leica] Interesting article on diffraction in digital photography

It would be simple enough to do what I happened to be doing a lot of lately
which is to do some shots at various f stops and see what they look later
when you get it all back to your computer. Then you'll know better not to
use certain f stops perhaps or what happens when you do use them.

I've been shooting a lot in the past month with a newly re gotten from me
from my storage cubical in Portland my AF Micro-Nikkor 60mm f/2.8D

When I run into something really inspiring like the wild flowers on the NY
High Line park in the sky and I really find a plant I like I'll really cover
it using a sprinkling of f11, 16, 22, and even a few at 32. And make 20 or
30 exposures.
I'm not seeing the image fall apart with this macro at such extreme small f
stops all I'm seeing is more in focus. But the slower shutter speed and or
higher ISO may lead to some degradation.

Perhaps macro lenes are made to be more viable at such small f stops.

When using a view camera people shoot everything at about the smallest f
stop on the tripod just as a matter of course. They will go down to f64 or
smaller and a lot of shooting is done at f32 and smaller.
