Mac software can be notoriously not backward compatible with the OS version.
So you get notifications that ?OmniOutliner Pro 4.0 is available!? and when
you go to upgrade, it has the be with the most recent OS X available. That
would be a no problem, but the iMac is also notoriously not forward
compatible. I realize that it is due to better technology, not planned
obsolescence, but when I plop down $2,500 for an iMac and it still runs
perfectly 6 years later, I have to deregister my software, pack it up in a
box, and put it in the closet if I want to use current programs. Even ?Busy
Day 2? calendar software wouldn?t run on my older iMac.
