I have to agree with Jayanand... There is a point when you have no choice.
It is AF or get another job/hobby.

The pitiful part is that it is inevitible....

I thought at age 35 that I could no longer focus my Canon F1 camera with
accuracy. My eyes had changed. Dumped all the Canon stuff and bought a
Nikon 8008. AF splendor, I thought. Then I tried it out and in bright
daylight, with little reason for focus errors, I found the camera would not
perform as well as I had without AF. Over time, got rid of all the AF stuff
( my sons swiped most of it) and went Leica.

I am 30 years older, and having the same doubts... Part of the reason I am
considering Nikon AF again.

When you look at the results out there, sharp images, there seems to be no
reason to not use AF..... Yes, it requires a different technique than a RF,
but really, not too different from rudimentary AF systems( 1 patch of
focus).

Inevitable means it is going to happen.. the issue is when and how much you
fight it.....

I was always told that it is best to go out at the top of your game..... AF
allows you to extend that game time.

Even if it is at Leica S2 prices.

Well, Jeff said the same thing as I did...and finally it is the only
permanent, practical solution. I have gone through this whole dance 10 years
ago.
Cheers
