Possible but at a cost. You are by definition losing quality in those
corners to do it. May or may not be significant. Leica have to because we
still have those 1954 lens design constraints obviously. No one else is
making sensors/cameras specifically optimised for M lenses nor would it
make sense to do so. You won't get rich designing for the tiny sub-set of
customers with M lenses.
You want to sell them your own and for my two cents it seems reasonable to
retain all of the capabilities/functions of the originals. By that I mean
Sony/Zeiss designs on their cameras, Fuji on Fuji , Leica on Leica etc.
