I don't deny you are correct... Leica lenses on Leica bodies are more
corrected, Nikon on Nikon gives AE operation... ditto Canon on Canon....
Native lens, native body IS best.

It is just the first time I think the cross platform idea works....

With the EVF, even if the lens does not have a working stop down aperture,
using the EVF, you can focus at whatever F stop you wish... and be able to
see the scenes as if it were coal bin, midnight, etc and sunny
16.....equally easily....

If I were a R user ( never had one...), I would be all over this A7r
body.....

The big question is how well the EVF works, delays, fine focuses, etc....
and that may turn out to be a personal preference... Which menas you need
to test it for yourself....

Possible but at a cost. You are by definition losing quality in those
corners to do it. May or may not be significant. Leica have to because we
still have those 1954 lens design constraints obviously. No one else is
making sensors/cameras specifically optimised for M lenses nor would it make
sense to do so. You won't get rich designing for the tiny sub-set of
customers with M lenses.
You want to sell them your own and for my two cents it seems reasonable to
retain all of the capabilities/functions of the originals. By that I mean
Sony/Zeiss designs on their cameras, Fuji on Fuji , Leica on Leica etc.
