Hmmm.
Lots of ways (of course). You could just import to a hard drive folder for 
those images. Then create a collection set called Synch and a folder under 
that collection set that perhaps had the same name as your hard drive folder 
BUT BE SURE TO CLICK THE SYNCH BUTTON WHEN YOU CREATE THE COLLECTION FOLDER 
(maybe you can do that later by right clicking, I don't know). Then drag the 
images, once imported as normal, into that collection set. It should then 
synch to your ipad (top left of the library folder will count down the files 
left to synch I believe). Then your folder with all images should be on your 
ipad...

You can use smart collections too, but that would take more time to 
describe...
