I cleaned the printer heads twice, downloaded the latest beta version of gimp print (through versiontracker)and properly loaded it, checked the configuration... and it seems to be working now... I am rather surprised but... voila !.... possibly more later, thanks to all who provided help, Steve > ii tried everything I could think of.
