I think I found your problem. I was updating an older computer and 
used the custom installation settings.  OAX 10.3 does not install the 
Epson 1270 driver in the default installation- you have to customize 
and install "Epson Printers 2" to get the 1270 driver. I read on 
MacFixit.com a strategy for going back and installing extra drivers.
