I'm sure Ted Grant will take exception to those remarks having never
left! <grin>

More seriously, as a world culture we seem to think that "things were
always this way" and seem disconnected that the planet DOES swing
through some very dramatic excursions.

That's not to deny that we are, quite likely, pushing the change and
making it happen more rapidly. There are signs that the CO2 absorption
mechanisms MAY be saturating which could add CO2 much faster than
current models have allowed for.

But global warming study IS science in action -- so there's going to
be a wide spectrum of approaches and analysis. Unfortunately
politicians and mere mortals find the uncertainty of the scientific
method difficult to deal with. Still, we have to make decisions based
on the best information we have at the time. I have come to believe
that we need to intervene.
