This doesn't make sense to me. The camera is doing SOME
image-processing function to render a "filter" into black and white.
They may have devisded a mechanism you like but I seriously doubt that
the same effect can't be done in Photoshop, saved as an action, and
then you've lost nothing as long as you start with a camera RAW image.
