The biggest problem as I see it is battery life.  I find that the 
battery lasts for about 2 Gb of photos (RAW files), less with chimping, 
so a second battery and a means of charging are essential.  For 
car-camping it's not a problem; for backpacking I'd look in to a solar 
charger or a different camera.
