not so. I bought my son an 8GB iPod nano two weeks ago for his birthday and 
it 
cost me ?120 (about $180). That doesn't compare with $4,500 for an M8 
without 
the lenses. $4,500 buys a lot of downloads - or CDs depending on your way of 
working. As for Mums...most Mums would rather spend the money on their 
family or 
  $4500 buys a lot of clothes or whatever. As for cameras she can get 
difital 
camera with a Leica lens for a lot less.

This suggests to me that they are targeting well-heeled versions of the 
above, 
which is more of the same.

I am afraid that the idea is right, but the economics seem dubious to me.
