given that the 1.0 noct dates back 33 years to our bicentennial, and 
given that the 1.0 can achieve its speed without the help of aspheric 
surfaces, the next great breakthrough to get my attention will be an 
f0.71 lens,  a full stop faster than the 1.0.  might be a while.
