I'm still happily using Windows XP.  I checked my options with my son who is 
a retired computer systems analyst.  He is not impressed with Windows 8, 
either.  It appears to me that I may have to check out the Dell 
"refurbished" sales outlet, to see if I can find a modern machine with 
Windows 7.
