Mark,

Frank is correct. Many of the degradations will not be noticeable. Don?t 
assume because you can?t see it, it didn?t happened. If a red pixel changes 
very slightly within a red blob of about 100,000 red pixels, are you going 
to notice?

Unless you diligently created data integrity checksums for every single 
image since day 1, you are not going to know when a ?1' bit flipped to a ?0?.
