I was taught that all guns are loaded and ready to fire, whether or not you 
have checked (which you must do as Ken and Herb have so well described). 
Treat it as such. 

And that a gun WILL kill whatever it is pointed at, whether you think/know 
it is loaded or not. So never point it anywhere but the ground or up if you 
know no one is above...

I would have never stayed in that room long enough to take a picture... 
Please run away next time Tina.
