too many variables in configurations of the machines to answer easily.
How and where (on what axis) is the rise, fall and shift accomplished
One could design a system which would meet your needs.
Lord knows many have tried.

on my Ultima
if the back is perfectly vertical and the lens is parallel to it
then rise, fall and shift will all work perfectly well for stitching.

It's the tilt and swing of the lens (or back)
which throws things off for critical focus control.
